Queen of hills-SHIMLA

Shimla, it is more than “just a city” to me. It has a special territory in my heart ❤. I’ve been to this city more than 5 times but still can not get over its beauty. There are plenty of reasons to love this city, tbh this won’t justify the feeling of affection but I would love to share one of my biggest reason why this city has my heart ❤️

ना जाने कैसा नशा है इस शहर की खूबसुरती में, दिल भरता ही नहीं, हर बारी वापस खिच बुलाता है 🌼

My first snowfall

Tho I have a lot of stories from Shimla but gonna write about the special one. and also this was my first trip after getting into college xD.

This is a story from the last weekend of January 2019. I was in college in Chandigarh, we had an event on Republic day. After the event was over, I decided I’ll go to my friend’s place who lives in Solan, Himachal Pradesh which is nearly 67km from Chandigarh.

We quickly packed our bags and took our bus from isbt 43, it was nearby and then we led for Solan. It took us nearly 2hrs to reach the town, got home and freshen up and planned out for the next day.

It was the DAY, 27th of January 2019!! I experienced the first snowfall of my life.

In the morning, we left for Shimla around 9:30 am. Tbh I was not expecting snowfall but was praying hard to the universe “please Bhagwan Ji snowfall krwa dena 🥺” and I knew snow toh pakka hoga because january ke time jami hui snow rehti hai!!

The plan was to go to Kufri, Himachal Pradesh but due to the peak season we got stuck in the traffic on our way, so we decided we’ll explore the main city and initially I wanted to see the snow which I did so we turned back and then parked our car in the parking space, bought the ticket for tourism lift (it costs 10rs/person)

We got up and the very moment I stepped out of the lift area, you know what happened it started snowing. It was the best day of my life and I was on cloud nine then, that moment was so damn special to me, it genuinely felt like the snow is falling just for me, the universe heard me! I was alive that day so beautiful.

Quick History about Shimla

It is said that Shimla takes its name from the name Shyamala which means a blue house. Shyamala Devi is considered to be the incarnation of goddess kali who resided in the blue house made by a fakir. in 1864, this heavenly place was affirmed as the summer capital of India. the best history of Shimla includes the establishment of the train line in the year 1903, the line was between Shimla and Kalka.
